Hokoji Temple is located in Okuyama, Inasa-cho, Hamana-ku, Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, and is the main temple of the Hokoji school of the Rinzai sect, and is a representative Zen temple in the Tokai region. It is a Zen temple founded by a former Zen master (Mumongen Senzenji), and has many buildings such as the main hall, Hansobo Shinden, Kaizando, and three-storied pagoda within the grounds of 1371 town walk (approximately 60 Tokyo Domes). 13 buildings are registered as nationally registered tangible cultural properties.
