ABOUT TEMPLE HOTEL

About temple lodging

Matsui-bo is a sub-temple of Minobusan Kuonji Temple, located right next to Kuonji Sanmon, one of Japan's three great temple gates.

Matsui-bo was founded in 1364 by Saint Nicho. Its guardian deity is the Bodhisattva Myoken, the god of the Big Dipper. It is said that even today, on specific days in March, the North Star shines directly above the temple. A magnificent pine tree, which is the origin of the temple's name, still stands on the approach to the temple. Here, you can enjoy a peaceful time, watched over by the stars and the pine.
