Shukubo Hogenji was opened under the concept of "an inn where one can experience the charms of the Southern Alps through food and experiences.
The lodge is a Japanese-style building with a single-storied house made of high-quality timber, and is located in the countryside surrounded by peach trees, a specialty of the region.
One private room per day is available for families and groups to spend a relaxing time together.

In addition to the morning service, visitors can experience a variety of other practices, such as "samu," in which they clean the temple grounds with the priest and sweep their minds together, shakyo, in which they prepare their minds by copying portions of sutras with a brush, and suigyo, in which they purify their minds and bodies by covering themselves with water.
